The folks from Red Bull Studio Cape Town and a few of their ridiculously talented friends have made a little corner of Braamfontein their own – with the Alexander Theatre serving as their headquarters. For the next four days, musical greats like Hugh Masekela, Black Coffee, Francois K and Julian Gomes will share their immense musical know-how with a selection of the country’s fresh, young talent – including Dirty Paraffin’s Okmalumkoolkat, Bateleur’s Nicolaas Van Reenen, Robin Brink from Beatenberg and songstress Moonchild – through a series of lectures and workshops as part of this year’s Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp.
So, if you’re anywhere near Braamfontein from now until November 3, you best not miss out, as a few of these workshops are open to the public too. And there will be a RMBA party somewhere in Braam every night until the good times come to an end. We recommend heading to Chaf Pozi in Soweto for the Bass Camp Soweto Session with Francois K, Black Coffee, Vinny Da Vinci and Christos, Jullian Gomes, Kid Fonque and Trancemicsoul on November 3.
