Author Sir Terry Pratchett has died aged 66, his publishers have confirmed.
Sir Terry, who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease and has previously campaigned in favour of assisted dying, passed away at home with his family by his side, as well as his beloved cat sleeping on his bed alongside him.
Earlier this year the fantasy author has suffered a chest infection, which gradually worsened. Before entering the final stages of Alzheimer’s, Pratchett finished his final book, a new Discworld novel, late last year.
Sir Terry’s daughter Rhianna, announced the news to the authors’ fans on Twitter in the style of his own writing.
