Sometimes, the real story is not the proposal but the story behind the proposal and the journey leading up to it. Case in point: 22-year-old Hudson Hoyle, a business consultant in Houstan, Texas, and his 23-year-old girlfriend, Katelyn Kainer.a sales manager at Macy’s.
The two met during their senior year at Texas A&M University and while they both have steady jobs, like most graduates, they don’t exactly have cash to freely spend on big luxury items (like a ring!) on demand.
Knowing this, Hoyle took on a second job as a Uber driver to make extra money and save up for the ring. How sweet, right? Hold the water works because it gets so much cuter-he kept his second job a complete secret from his future bride-to-be.
In an interview, he said that he would cover his tracks by telling his girlfriend he was hanging out with friends.
Once all the planning came together, Hoyle began recording and documenting the journey leading up to the proposal so that Kainer could see the hundreds of people, and many months it took for him to get to this point. He then edited the clips and played it for her at a surprise engagement party after he proposed to her during a weekend away.
