Her follows the life of Theodore played by Joaquin Phoenix (hello dreamy blue eyes!) who is an withdrawn writer who writes emotive and personal letters for other people. After the demise of a long relationship that leaves him heartbroken, Theodore becomes intrigued with, and finds solace in, a new and highly advanced operating system. The operating system’s voice becomes known as ‘Samantha’ (Scarlett Johansson) who turns out to have a witty and sensitive personality of her own. It’s not long before Theodore falls deeply in love with a woman that technically doesn’t really exist. Talk about labelling a relationship as complicated!
