The picture above of full lips was posted on Instagram by MAC Cosmetics 5 days ago, and has caused quite a stir.
The snap, captioned “Royal Romance at @ohnetitelny #AW16. #MACBackstage #NYFW”, is a simple backstage pic of model Aamito Lagum’s lip beauty look. Even though the pic received some praise for the naturally beautiful lips and the equally beautiful shade of lip colour, the model became a subject of hateful racist attacks. When the model’s lips were compared to that of a fish, and one comment stating that those were Jay Z’s lips.
2 days following the comments, Lagum responded proved that she won’t let the haters get her down or let racisim win by reposting the headlined pic captioning it, “My lips giving you sleepless nights, Thank you @maccosmetics for this killer color and to that makeup artist.”
