On a list of “coolest jobs in the world”, being Leo’s personal assistant is right up there. Besides the constant eye candy (yes, Leo still has the charm after all these years!) you get to hang out with one of the most successful actors in the world right now, probably read through his scripts with him and give him love and life advice. How cool? Pretty darn cool, according to Kasi Brown, who claims the bragging rights to this title.

In an interview with The Huffington Post, Kasi explains how she landed her job as Leo’s PA: Kasi is friends with a girl named Kayce Brown (coincidence?) who worked as Leo’s previous assistant in 2002 when he was filming Catch Me If You Can. So when The Aviator was being filmed in Canada, Kasi travelled to Canada and hung out with her friend and future boss, too. When filming for The Aviator moved to LA, Kayce moved on to assist another Hollywood A-Lister (Kate Hudson), which made Kasi was the obvious next choice. And the rest, as they say, is history.
“She asked me if I was interested in taking over the position,” Kasi recalled to The Huffington Post. “I thought, why not? It would give me the opportunity, as a filmmaker, to watch Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio work. I’d be an idiot to turn down a learning opportunity like that!”
So, what is like working for an Oscar winner? “He’s extremely down to earth, and he likes to share stories and life experiences with people,” said Brown. “Leo and I always had fun on set,” she added.
“Sometimes, I would pretend that he was the stereotype of an entitled celebrity and when he would ask me to do something, I would bow and in a beaten-down voice say, ‘Yes, sir, anything you like sir, anything else, sir?’ and he would laugh and tell me to knock it off,” Brown said.
Could Leo get any more perfect? According to Brown, Leo also kept in contact after filming for Aviator wrapped up, giving her advice and encouragement when it came to her trying to make it in the industry.
