Hybrid desserts are highly addictive – we’re talking to you cake pops, ice cream sandwiches and cronuts – so when we heard that two more of our favourite desserts are joining forces to become one, we booked an appointment with our personal trainer, because once we start there’s no turning back.
Introducing “macaronuts”. They are exactly what their name says they are: a combo of the classic French macaroon and the classic donut. I mean!?

Creator French pâtissière François Payard decided to bless the world with this creation in honour of Macaroon Day (March 20), which subsequently is a day created by Payard himself.
Okay, so we may have been slightly over-eager in booking a personal trainer ‘cause these baked goodies are only available in NYC currently, but so was the cronut and it was only a matter of time before they landed on our shores.
