Wearing a dress that a celeb wore to a red-carpet event to your school dance sounds like a fantasy, right? Well, for 17-year-old Jessica Casanova, this dream came true thanks to Jane The Virgin star Gina Rodriguez.
Jessica was offered the opportunity to wear Gina’s stunning black strapless Badgley Mischka gown that she wore to the 2015 Golden Globes after the New York scholar tweeted how much loved it and wished she could wear it to her prom. “I would say maybe in an hour or an hour and a half she replied and said, ‘Maybe we can make this happen.’ From there it started to roll,” says Jessica.
In South Africa, The Princess Project gives many girls the same opportunity.
