We’re heading into a beautiful long summer, and with Electric Vines MusicFest on it’s way to celebrate the New Year in, along with many other fabulous outdoor festivals on their way you need to come prepared!
We’ve surveyed some of the leading experts around the globe to come up with your ultimate summer festival survival guide.
FIFTEEN
At Electric Vines you will be staying overnight as you don’t want to miss one second of the fun, So a waterproof tent, a torch, clean undies and deodorant (it will seriously hinder your romantic opportunities if not!), or you can cheat and use one of the many accomodation offers Electric Vines offers.
FOURTEEN
Take ear plugs — not very rock and roll but you might want to get some sleep at some point over the 48 hours of Awesomeness!
THIRTEEN
Make friends with security – We have the markets friendliest staff and we are proud about it , they will take care of you if you are nice. You can trust those dudes.
TWELVE
Do not take a Glow Stick — they were never (and will never be) cool! Or big styled Sun glasses for that matter. (you will look like a human fly)
ELEVEN
Do buy official merchandise , it’s cool and you will belong better, it will not be cheaper at the end of the festival!

Leave your shirt on — unless you’re Candice Swanepoelor Janez Vermeiren

Don’t forget to eat! Not eating equals starvation equals passing out equals missing half the festival and at Electric Vines we have some of the best food courts availble
EIGHT
Always arrange a meeting point in case you get separated from your mates. Safety in numbers guys! also go back to advice number THRITEEN, we are all there to assist each other
SEVEN
Take an empty plastic bag — it can have many uses! You can use it to sit on, wear it as a poncho if it rains, or erm… use it for emergencies if you get desperate!
SIX
Wear comfortable shoes and make sure they’re closed in — thongs are no good if it rains and your feet will get filthy! Nobody finds dirty feet atractive.
FIVE
Don’t lose your stuff! Take a bag that can easily stay close to your body and take only the bare essentials.
FOUR
Don’t forget to wear sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat to protect yourself from sunburn. There’s no need to ruin your fun with killer sunburn, and trust us we have seen it happen many times.
THREE
Drink plenty of water! If you get dehydrated you’ll just pass out and ruin it for everyone! Electric vines provide free water stations so make the most of it. For the luxury festival goers we have the best sparkling available at the food courts.
TWO
Toilets — familiarize yourself with all the toilet locations when you first arrive. If you can, save some toilet paper at the start of the day so if there is a shortage later you’re all sorted!. As an extra precaution take a mini bottle of hand sanitizer or a travel pack of baby wipes. Sounds lame but you’ll thank us later.

The number one tip for surviving at Electric Vines — have fun! Plan out in advance which acts you want to see and at what time and make sure you don’t miss any of it! There is a lot to miss so be prepared
