The first season of The Voice South Africa has come to end and saw the first winner announced last night: Richard Stirton, whose coach was Parlatones frontman Kahn Mornbee!
The grand finale took place and was broadcast live from Sasani Studios in JHB and included performances by Vusi Mahlasela, popular Afrikaans singer Riana Nel, as well as Voice SA coaches Karen Zoid, Bobby van Jaarsveld and Lira.
Richard not only walks away with the crown, he also gets a recording contract from Universal Studios and prizes worth more than R800 000.
“I am on top of the world right now. Really, I’m so happy. I can’t believe it. I was listening to news bulletins talking about me this morning and I really never thought I would hear my name and ‘The Voice SA winner’ in the same sentence.”
