We may not know any spells on how to magically summon a cake, so we’re just going to have to settle on wishing Emma Watson a bewitching 25th birthday!

We all now Emma as clever Hermione Granger in Harry Potter, but Emma has really come into her own as an informed, graceful, grounded, well-spoken and passionate advocate for women’s rights that we love, respect and admire. She’s addressed the United Nations, and in doing so, motivated us-men and women alike- to be and do better.

15-Emma-Watson-graduation

Arguably Emma’s biggest moment of 2014 came in September. Emma was appointed a U.N. Women Goodwill Ambassador. She then delivered an intense speech on ending gender equality throughout the world. Along with U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Emma helped launch theHeForShe campaign with the goal of including more boys and men in the fight for equality.

Emma also campaigned for #HeForShe at the 2015 World Economic Forum on January 23, 2015. Emma reported the positive initial response to the program, before stressing the need for additional efforts to end gender inequality, once and for all.

  3.  Emma’s first role outside the Harry Potter franchise was the BBC film ‘Ballet Shoes’ in 2007, an adaptation of the novel by the same name. She also lent her voice to the role of Princess Pea in the animated film ‘The Tale of Despereaux’.
  4.  Emma Watson is the youngest star to have graced the cover of Teen Vogue at the age of 15.
  5.  She graduated from Brown University in the US in English literature on May 25, 2014.
  6.  Emma is a cat lover. She has two cats: Bubbles and Domino.

  8.  In 2014, she was appointed as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and helped launch the UN Women campaign HeForShe, which calls for men to advocate gender equality.
  9.  Emma Watson will mark her singing debut in a live-action adaptation of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ where she will play Belle opposite Dan Stevens, the Beast.
  10.  In February 2010, she was named as Hollywood’s highest paid actress, having earned an estimated 19 million pounds in 2009.

8 times out of 10 on a semi cold wintery evening we would all opt to staying at home wrapped in fluffy pjs, watching re-runs of our favourite girly series and sipping slowly on hot coco – but last night we didn’t. And it was fantastic!

RIHANNA COCAINE VIDEO GOES VIRAL

Last night, 14 April 2015, a vine of Rihanna partying with friends at Coachella went viral. The reason? The 27-year-old singer is rumoured to have been doing cocaine in the video.

Riri took to slamming the allegations in the most Bad Gal Riri way possible, naturally!

Rihanna responded to one user spreading the video on Instagram leaving a comment (on a now deleted Instagram post): “Your lame ass got some f****** nerve!!! Any fool could see that’s a joint im basing with a cigarette! Who snorts tobacco??!! FOH witcho ‘never been to a rodeo so someone squeezing their nose means they’re doing coke’ looking ass!

If you move on over with us to Riri’s Instagram account, you can see that Riri is occupied with something with her fingers. In full on Bad Gal Riri mode, Rihanna posted a throwback snap if her with a can of Coca-Cola, and only the word “petty” to describe it.

GISELE MAKES FINAL RUNWAY APPERANCE

Gisele Bündchen made her final catwalk appearance at the Colcci show during Sao Paulo Fashion Week yesterday.

getImgIntranet

Gisele Bündchen made her final runway appearance at Sao Paulo Fashion Week.

The 34-year-old supermodel – who confirmed she was to retire from the catwalk last week – sashayed down the runway for Colcci, a brand she has been collaborating with since she started out in the industry.

The blonde beauty was supported by her husband Tom Brady – with whom she has Benjamin, five, and Vivian, two – and looked stunning as she strutted her stuff in a pretty white dress by the brand and knee-high gladiator sandals.

The label paid tribute to Gisele at the end of the show when they sent models out on to the catwalk sporting t-shirts adorned with her face.

The model – who took to her Instagram account to share behind the scenes photos from the show – said she was “grateful” for her 20 year career and described working in the industry a “privilege” alongside a throwback photo of her 14-year-old self that she uploaded to the picture sharing site.

She wrote: “I am grateful that at 14, I was given the opportunity to start this journey. Today after 20 years in the industry, it is a privilege to be doing my last fashion show by choice and yet still be working in other facets of the business. #firstrunway #14yearsold (sic)”

Although it was first rumoured Gisele was to quit the runway last month, she only confirmed the news last week and admitted she made the decision out of “respect” for her body.

She told the Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper: “Automatically my body tells me if what I do is worth it, and it asked to stop.

“I respect my body, it’s a privilege to be able to stop.”

Sometimes, it gets a bit crazy trying to keep up with not only the Kardashians, but all the rich and famous peeps who don’t have their own reality shows.

So, in case you missed out, here are the biggest moments from this week:

SOFIA VERGARA HAS HER OWN SHOW

And in it she has two sisters who look and sound exactly like her! Don’t believe us? Watch for yourself. It’s Brilliant.

BODY LOVE FLOODED OUR SOCIAL MEDIA #GirlPower

This past weekend — in response to photos of singer-songwriter P!nk in a gorgeous black dress at a formal cancer benefit honouring one of her friends— the Internet immediately took to criticizing her for a supposed weight gain. Pink responded by taking to twitter, tweeting:

We didn’t think it could get any better, but then supermodel Chrissy Teigan took to Instagram, posting the following, showing that she has flaws just like the rest of us:

2

She captioned the snap, “Bruises  from bumping kitchen drawer handles for a week. Stretches say hi!”

THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST CAST TWEETED THEIR FIRST SELFIE (OR WOULD THAT BE A GROUFIE, WITH SO MANY PEOPLE?)

Josh Gad (playing Le Fou) posted the pic this week, captioning it “We cant wait for you to be our guest”

KOURTNEY EXPLAINS WHY SHE CHOSE THE NAME ‘REIGN’

With names like Mason and Penelope , Reign seems so out of the ordinary. So what encouraged Kourt and Scott to choose Reign Aston Disick for their baby boy?

“I’m never certain [with names] until they’re born,” the 36-year-old said in a recent interview. But, the KUWTK star revealed that Reign was a name she’d actually considered as a possible name a long time ago.

“I actually had the name on our list with Mason,” she explained. “Then with Penelope, I had it on the list but spelled R-A-I-N.”

And for her third child, which Kourt thought was a “girl in the beginning,” she circled back to Rain as a possibility and started to really like it. “Once I found out I was having a boy, we just changed the spelling again,” she said.

M-NET Movies Family is on the prowl for an Ambassadoggy

Does your furry best friend have what it takes to be the face of the M-Net Movies Family Channel 105 on DStv?

AD7

We are on the lookout for man, woman and child’s best friend to be the face or Ambassadoggy of the channel as well as receive grand prizes such as flat screen TV’s, Explora decoders and pampering vouchers for the winning doggy.

To launch the campaign, the channel worked with YouTube extraordinaires – Derick Watts and the Sunday Blues – to create this humorous call for entries.

The comic duo was more than thrilled to be on board. Gareth Allison from Derick Watts and The Sunday Blues explains, “Being a part of this particular M-NET Movies Family campaign was a no-brainer for us, as both Nic and I are obsessed with our dogs – Shia LeWoof and Michael Puglass, respectively.”

 AD3

Allison continues, “Sadly, due to contest rules, they aren’t eligible to win the grand title of Ambassadoggy. I’m not looking forward to breaking the news to them; Michael Puglass, in particular is in the midst of a serious tennis ball addiction.”

Competition entries are now open on mnet.dstv.com/ambassadoggy and close on the 30 April 2015. Ambassadoggy owner hopefuls are required to submit a picture or video to the website as part of their entry.

A panel of dog-loving judges, comprising of TV, radio and online personalities, such as Rob Vember, Vanessa Haywood and Just Curious will then narrow down the entrants to the top 5. The public will then have the opportunity to vote for their favorite dog, and the winner will be selected based on likes and shares.

The grand prizewinner will be announced on the 27 May 2015 and be required to be available for a session with the Puparazzi and to sign pawtographs from the following week.

TYGA TATTOO’S KYLIES NAME

Here’s a recap on the ongoing Kylie-Tyga-Blac Chyna debacle. Ok, so, over the weekend, Blac Chyna took to Instagram to expose Tyga by posting screenshots of text messages  from Tyga to her saying that he wants to make it work with her and be a family with their son, King Cairo. Ouch.

Tyga, took to twitter posting the following:

tyga tweets

What’s more? He got Kylie’s name inked on his arm as well-on Saturday, snaps of his new tattoo (Kylie’s name in cursive on the inside of his arm) surfaced on social media and spread like a wild fire. (Instagrams  and tweets may come and go, but tattoos are forever, we say)

Kylie seems to be taking her man’s side and sub-tweeted that she thought the text messages were ‘fake’.

Hmmmm, we say that where there’s smoke, there’s fire but you will have to stay tuned to GraziaDaily for more updates!

PHASE TWO TICKETS NOW OPEN!

German music duo, Clemens and Philipp – otherwise known as Milky Chance are the second international act to be performing at Rocking the Daisies Music and Lifestyle Festival happening from the 1st to the 4th of October this year at Cloof Wine Estate in Darling. They are the latest international act announced to play at South Africa’s premiere eco-friendly festival this year, alongside The Cat Empire (AUS) on the Main stage.

Milky Chance became a viral online sensation after they released their self-produced single “Stolen Dance” on YouTube, which racked up over 30million plus views in one month. They mix elegant electronic production with acoustic guitars and lilting, lush vocals and have mastered an original style that can best be described as singer-songwriter spirit mixed with electronic beats.

Clemens says, “Somehow, it’s always a little bit melancholy, but there’s a positive spin. You can dance to most of it too! Melancholy is something that I carry within me. I write the best songs when this mood catches me.”
