CARA DELEVINGNE IS THE NEW AMBASSADOR FOR TAG HEUER

TAG Heuer- Cara Delevingne, Catwalking With A Lion

TAG Heuer held Cara Delevingne’s “Welcome to the TAG Heuer Family” fête in the Salle Melpomène, the most beautiful room in the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Paris. After all, where other than Paris, on the eve of Fashion Week, could such a celebration be held? The catwalk princess was positively radiant and at her cheeky best as she charmed the 150 journalists and VIPs in attendance.

The exhibition space, named after the Greek muse of tragedy, was magically transformed for the occasion into a theatre of antiquity, with the solemnity of a red carpet experience and the unexpected presence of wildness. Cara, unafraid of the muse’s spell, showed her impish tomboy side as she strode boldly down the aisle, gliding around … a lion. Yes, lion, like the one tattooed on her index finger, her emblem — with floating mane and graceful gait perfectly matching Cara’s. The audience was stunned into silence; no one had expected it, or seen anything like it.

TAG Heuer- Cara Delevingne, Catwalking With A Lion

Who would dare pull such a stunt? TAG Heuer, of course. And who would dare accept it? Cara Delevingne, who else?

TAG Heuer- Cara Delevingne, Catwalking With A Lion

Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of TAG Heuer and President of LVMH Watches Worldwide, greeted Cara Delevingne by offering her a TAG Heuer Formula One Steel and Black Ceramic Chronograph set with glittering diamonds—the perfect match for Cara’s unique rock’n’roll glamour.

CAH1212

“I am delighted to welcome Cara into the TAG Heuer family,” said Mr. Biver. “This is always a very solemn moment. The TAG Heuer family is not just an idea, it is a team, with true team spirit. We needed someone disruptive yet elegant like Cara to open our minds to the brashness and boldness of today’s youth. TAG Heuer has set its sights on “it-ness”, and Cara is just the person to help us get there. Thank you for joining the team, Cara, and welcome aboard!”

SUMMER FUN IN STELLENBOSCH WITH DELHEIM

No summer in Stellenbosch would be complete without a fun-filled harvest celebration. So get a good dose of Winelands entertainment early in the New Year and head out to Delheim Estate, one of the first wine estates to roll out the barrels for this annual buzz, when their popular Start of Harvest Celebration takes place on the weekend of 31 January and 1 February 2015.

PicMonkey Collage

Proving that there is life after the holidays, the Sperling family invites the public to share with them ‘Days in the life of Delheim’ as they stomp in the harvest in high spirits. During these two days they will swap the commotion in the cellar and vineyard for a harvest hullabaloo on their legendary wine farm, which ranges from a grape stomping contest to laidback picnic indulgences on the lawn.

The fun in the sun starts at noon, both days, when guests are welcomed with a glass of fermenting grape must and a sweet ‘mosbolletjie’, a traditional harvest treat, to toast the new vintage. Grapes harvested on the day will also be out for sampling, whilst young and old can get knee-deep in grape juice glee to get a real hands-on experience of winemaking.

A long, buffet-style Harvest Table will entice families and friends in the lush picnic area where they can chill out on the grass at the river’s edge and enjoy delicious food to the sounds of a live band.

Another highlight of this annual get-together is the main grape stomping competition – a mushy clash in which teams stomp their hearts out to produce the most juice. Fabulous prizes are up for grabs for the best team, boldest spirit, and best dressed on the day.

PicMonkey Collage

Tickets to the Delheim Start of Harvest Celebration 2015 are limited to 120 adults per day and cost R285 per adult (R175 per child under 12; kids under 2 are free). Your ticket includes all the activities and food on the day, including a Delheim wine glass, and the grape must and mosbolletjie on arrival. These tickets sell like hot cakes so make sure you get yours now to avoid disappointment.

For more information or to book your spot contact Wilma or Liah at Delheim Estate’s restaurant at

KIM KARDASHIAN MAKES FUN OF HER SELFIE IN SUPERBOWL COMMERCAIL

The Kardashian family has always been vocal about how boring and serious Kim kan be is-turns out, they were wrong-Kim kan be funny.

In the latest Superbowl commercial for T-Mobile, Kim not only calls out herself for using her data to post pictures of her vacations and outfits, but calls out all of you for following her every move.  “Please, help save the data,” she  pleads, in an attempt to remind viewers of T-Mobiles Data Stash program where users can keep all unused data for a year-that’s a whole lot of instagrams #justsaying

“Hi I’m Kim,” the 34-year-old, who is wearing a black crop top suit, says to the camera. “Each month, millions of gigs of unused data are taken back by wireless companies. Tragic. Data you paid for can be used to see my makeup, my backhand, my outfits, my vacations and my outfits. Sadly all lost. Help save the data.”

And while stating each of those scenarios, we see Kim doing what she does best—taking a selfie to show off her makeup, taking a selfie in her tennis uniform, taking a selfie in her closet and taking a selfie in the snow.

ALYSSA

I’m originally from small town Pietermaritzburg in KZN and currently reside in the beautiful Cape Town, coastal babies always go back to their roots…

Cape Town stole my heart and opened doors into the Model industry being part of Boss Models running on my 3rd year as a full time model which I feel very blessed by.

I believe in setting short and long term goals one of those which is so important to me is an education, Im a graduate with a Bachelors in Communication science and Business management.

I chose this field because I love working with people from psychology, marketing , PR  it’s been an exciting study which I throughly enjoyed. I am quite the book worm with a fun exciting side being the fashion/ entertainment industry and travel.

Being a Model was my way of doing the two things I love which is fashion and entertaining which allows me the opportunity to travel – modelling is more like a story and unlocking characters tapping into a fantasy.

I love challenges and  that “always wanting to know more” kind of person.

Being in the industry opens opportunities of meeting all sorts of people from people you’ve looked up to, hoping to be one day, to the individuals behind the scenes with so much to teach you and developing friendships with individuals from every corner of the world opens your eyes to the bigger world and forever inspiring a greater goal and achieving more.

I love my Job and it doesn’t stop there. After my Gap period I plan on chasing my other aspirations I’ll be working on my Post grad and working towards a 2nd qualification in another field I’m passionate about which entails the business of fashion.

Knowledge is Power.

Sometimes, it gets a bit crazy trying to keep up with not only the Kardashians, but all the rich and famous peeps who don’t have their own reality shows.

So, in case you missed out, here are the biggest moments from this week

  1. Lady Gaga kept her poker face when she did yoga in her g-string and crop top

  1. Karl Lagerfeld’s namesake brand just released its Spring campaign starring some of his favorite models of the moment including his new muse, Kendall Jenner. Shot by Lagerfeld himself, the campaign, titled “Karl Is Kolor,”. Take a special behind-the-scenes sneak peek

  1.   The ‘baby’ singer posted a dimly lit video to Facebook Wednesday in which he opened up about his past behavior. In the emotionally charged apology, Justin said sorry for his “arrogant” and “conceited” behavior.

  1. Whoever said you can’t have it all, clearly didn’t know who Amal Clooney is-looks, brains, style and great humour, the gal has it all!  While recently working on a genocide case in an Armenian courtroom, Clooney was asked what she was wearing by a reporter. Amal laughed, pointed to her legal robes and responded, “Ede and Ravenscroft.” (a heritage company that produces high quality legal garments)

5. In an interview on Ellen yesterday, Kanye West gave us a sneak peek of his new ‘Only One’ video featuring North West. We are utterly obsessed with how adorable and bemused Nori looks (and also how incredibly stylish!)

KATY PERRY ROARS AT SUPERBOWL HALFTIME SHOW

Making a grand entrance atop a moving gold tiger, Katy Perry  was a girl on fire in a flame adorned dress (all her outfits were designed by Jeremy Scott) for her performance during the 2015 Super Bowl Halftime Show held at the University of Phoenix stadium last night, February 1.

With acrobatic dancers surrounding her and costume changes Katy was the epitome of perfection for her Halftime performance with surprise guests Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliot joining the singer on stage.

Take a look at the spectacular performance, here:

Katy Perry seems to be feeling good about her performance (and we agree!) as she took to Instagram, after her performance, documenting her trip to a tattoo parlour and showing off her new ink! Accompanying her snap, the singer captioned the pic ‘I thought it would be appropriate to draw blood tonight…XLIX’

The ‘Teenage Dream’ singer got XLIX tattooed on her finger-the roman numerals for the number 49-to celebrate the 49th sporting event.

LOCO DICE TOURS SA WITH NPO BRIDGES FOR MUSIC TO SUPPORT EDUCATIONAL PROJECTS

Announcing the first official fundraising tour for this year, Bridges for Music is proud to welcome German DJ and electronic music producer Loco Dice on his first visit to South Africa this February. Loco Dice’s tour forms part of Bridges for Music’s fundraising initiatives for educational projects like its music and multimedia school in Langa — or the various scholarship programmes that have already helped underprivileged South African artists to perform on global stages like Tomorrowland or Glastonbury.

Loco Dice has wanted to re-connect with his African roots for some time, and this opportunity provided the perfect opportunity. Some of his tracks are huge hits among the South African house scene, like “El gallo Negro”. He will also take it beyond the gigs and support the local scene on a grassroots level.

 BFM Logo

The tour will consist of two fundraising shows in Johannesburg. The first show will be held on Saturday, February 7th, at Truth, where he will be playing alongside some of South Africa´s most promising artists like Culoe de Song, Ryan Murgatroyd and Trancemicsoul. Soweto’s Zone 6 will be the venue for the second show, a special night supported by local icons Black Coffee and DJ Shimza with the participation of local icons Vinny Da Vinci, Jullian Gomes and Da Capo. Loco Dice will host a special workshop at the Kliptown Youth Centre, located in the heart of Soweto.

All of the proceeds from the fundraising shows will go directly to Bridges for Music, thanks to support from Red Bull Studios in Cape Town, who are covering all expenses of the tour, and Loco Dice, who is committing his time to support this cause. The public can support the initiative by purchasing tickets to the show or donating via a special crowd funding platform created for this tour: www.justgiving.com/locodice.

Bridges for Music have been raising money to build a music and multimedia school in the township of Langa, Cape Town with the goal of empowering the community through music. The non-profit organisation’s main goal for 2015 is to ensure the music school is sustainable over the next three years by securing additional funding. The school aims to become a creative hub where these young, talented individuals are able to pursue their dreams and develop skills, through a shared passion for music. The aim is also for the school to become a landmark in the community of Langa.

Through various fundraising initiatives BFM has already raised over R2-million in funds, which covers the initial build of the school. Most notably a highly successful charity cycle in 2014 organised by Resident Advisor from London to Amsterdam (during ADE) raised over £100,000 (R1,8m) with the support of over 2,800 donors and the sponsors of the cycle (Native Instruments, ADE, Pioneer DJ and SONOS). Thirty riders in total were able to take part in the challenge thanks to Resident Advisor who covered the costs of the cycle to enable 100% of the donations to go to the Langamusic and multimedia school.

 BFM School Langa

BFM have more exciting fundraising events planned for the year, including the Tale of Us tour and The Breathe Sunshine Unity Jam Festival. Further details will be announced closer to the time.

JOHNNY DEPP, AMBER HEARD AND PARADIS(E)

Can you hear that? Not only is it the sound of wedding bells, but the sound of thousands of hearts breaking all over the world as Johnny Depp and Amber Heard reportedly set to say ‘I do’ this weekend after a yearlong engagement.

The couple are set to get married in an area called Little Hall’s Pond Cay, on a private island in the Bahamas, that Johnny purchased back in 2004.

This will be Depp’s second marriage -he was previously married to make-up artist Lori Anne Allison for four years from 1983, and then had a 14-year relationship – and two kids – with French singer Vanessa Paradis. This will be Amber’s first wedding. While the couple are described as “really happy [and] flirty and cute” by their friends and family, sources close to the pair reveal that all is not as perfect as it seems.

Johnny is finding himself trapped between Vanessa and his Amber – he supposedly sees no need for a prenuptial agreement and this is causing friction between the two women in his life. Vanessa and Johnny have two children together – Jack (12) and Lily-Rose (15) – and when Vanessa found out about Depp’s disinterest for a prenup, she was very, very unhappy. Apparently, Vanessa is concerned because there is $350 million at stake and she wants to ensure that their two children receive a fair inheritance. Essentially, Vanessa fears that that the young starlet will try cash in, if things don’t work out between the pair.

Meanwhile, when Johnny shared Vanessa’s concerns with Amber, we’re told there was another fight he had to deal with with; Amber apparently doesn’t understand why Johnny is still communicating with Vanessa, but more importantly, is concerend  that he values her opinion at all.

Let’s hope they get it all sorted before the weekend then!
