Not only are the Jenners and Kardashians reality royalty, they get paid like royalty, too!
With TV shows, clothing lines, perfumes, tanning products, apps, novels, video games, socks… the Kardashian-Jenner family have so many financial fingers-in-pies it’s little wonder their estimated net worth is £150 million (that’s around R2.9 billion).
Naturally, they’re all coining it from the show and the show’s various spin offs, but outside of that, it’s fair game, so the question is: who is bringing home the most bacon? You might be surprised. We present to you, the Kardashian rich list from lowest to highest…
Kylie Jenner
WORTH: £1.3 million (R25.75 million)
The youngest sister proved she was a force to be reckoned with when she scored a solo brand ambassador contract with nap + fab and her own range of hair extensions. Add into the mix her clothing line for PacSun with sister Kendall as well as their book, and Kylie is hot on sister Kim’s heels of building her own empire at the tender age of only 17.
Rob Kardashian
WORTH: £1.7 million (R33.68 million)
The only brother in the female-dominated klan, Rob isn’t doing too bad for himself financially. Although he has been MIA for the last couple of seasons, Rob has raked in dough from his appearance on the show as well as on Khloé and Lamar’s spin-off show. Although, he did pull up his socks, erm earnings, quite a bit when he launched his own sock line, Arthur George.
Kendall Jenner
WORTH: £2.5 million (this amount is set to double in the next few years at the rate Kendall’s going) (R49.57 million)
Yes, she makes her earnings from her appearance on the show as well as her clothing line and book deal with sister Kylie, but the real big dollars are coming from her modelling career. Kendall managed to crack into the notoriously tough modelling industry when she made her catwalk debut for Marc Jacobs; she has since landed major contracts as the face of Estée Lauder and Calvin Klein, and she’s only 19. Damn.
Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian
WORTH: £12.8 million each (R253 million each)
The two sisters are probably the closest (and let’s not lie, the funniest #sorrynotsorry Kim) of the Kardashian sisters and although they haven’t broken the internet like sister Kim, the two receive a hefty monthly income as well. Thanks to their appearance on the show (it’s rumoured that they earn £32 000 [R634 100] per episode) and its various spin-offs, as well as their DASH store, various clothing and beauty lines as well as separate individual endorsements, Kourt and Khloé make a mean money-making team.
Kim Kardashian
WORTH: £41 million (R812 million)
We’re not going to lie to you, we were surprised to find out that Kim wasn’t at number 1 on this list, especially after Khloé always complaining that she’s momma Kris’ fave because she brings home the most bacon. Well, the most of all the siblings it seems.
Kim gave her family life – literally. The highest-paid Kardashian sister, which also got boosted by her wedding to hubby Kanye West last year, has a business resume that goes on and on. From endorsement deals to being on the cover of various magazines as well as inside spreads, a video game that is doing surprisingly well to a book on all her favourite selfies. This woman is a financial powerhouse. We gotta admit it, she knows what sells and how to do business.
Caitlyn Jenner
WORTH: £65 million (R1.2 billion)
Long before KUWTK, Caitlyn (formerly Bruce) was a pro-athlete who earned a gold medal in the 1976 Montreal Olympics. From there, countless TV appearances and endorsements deals followed as well as her family’s show, which skyrocketed and set the benchmark for reality TV.
Since the divorce from Kris and undergoing her gender reassignment surgery though, Caitlyn’s brand has skyrocketed again, going from a fly-on-the-wall on the reality show to the next Kim Kardashian.
Kris Jenner
WORTH: £80 million. (R1.5 billion)
Kim may have given her family life, but Kris is the brains behind it all. As “momager” to all her children, including manager to Caitlyn before her surgery and the divorce, Kris is reality TV’s equivalent to Warren Buffet. The woman knows how to make money off anything. Bible.
Money from her appearance on the show is small change compared to the healthy cut she takes from the combined family earnings. But Kris has also worked on her own brand with her talk show (which only lasted one season), her cookbooks and her QVC collection.
Fun fact: This is so Kris Jenner: she claimed the patent rights for the word “momager”, the nickname that stuck when the Kardashians first shot to fame.
Love them or hate them, this family means business and they’re not showing any signs of slowing down.
