Last week, Instagram announced that it will be tweaking the way people “like” videos: it will now start counting views as likes, just like Facebook.

Still confused? Okay, let’s break it down. One “view” counts as one “like” after viewing it for three seconds. So your video is no longer about who “likes” it, but who’s watched it. In the next couple of weeks you’ll be able to see view counts underneath videos where before you’d normally see likes, and you’ll be able to see likes by tapping “views”, Instagram explained.

Ellen DeGeneres is at it again, and this time even she can’t control herself. Ellen teamed up with Adele for what we would even go so far as to say is one of her best pranks ever.

Speaking through an earpiece, Ellen talks to Adele, dishing out all sorts of ridiculous requests while Adele is at a Jamba Juice ordering a smoothie. She even tells Adele to ask if she has to pay for her smoothie, because you know, she’s a celeb. Adele is pure class on this prank, keeping her composure (something  Ellen can’t even do!).

Two days after her birthday, the 28-year-old songstress has finally released the official video for her much anticipated ‘work’ video after teasing fans last week with a sneak peek of the vid on her social media.

Ri’s new video was filmed across North America – both her and Drake were spotted shooting in LA and Toronto earlier in the year.

The video screams Rihanna as she is seen with partying with Drake at a Toronto Caribbean restaurant (Expect a lot of grinding and twerking). But wait there’s more! Just when you think the video is over, Rihanna hits us with another full video where it’s just Drake and RiRi in a private room, lit in purple. Because why make one video when you can make two, eh RiRi?

No one can sing like Christina Aguilera, well, except maybe for Demi Lovato…

Demi took part in Jimmy Fallon’s popular game, Wheels of Impressions, and stunned us with her hidden talent. The impression game started off with Demi having to imitate Cher singing “Bingo Was His Name-O”, and without hesitation Demi took the mic and belted out the tune, sounding exactly like Cher! Jimmy, like us, was so entertained that he even joined in!

Amongst other impressions, Jimmy Fallon sang Mister Roger’s Neighbourhood theme song as Louis Armstrong and Demi did a rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star as rapper Fetty Wap, proving she can switch to rap music if she pleased. When it came to the singer having to sing Spongebob Squarepants as Xtina, we must admit, we weren’t too sure she would crack it. But boy were we wrong – she had Christina’s voice down to a tee (vibratos and all). And to that Jimmy said the only thing he could: “Game over!”

Who could possibly top that?

When it comes to viral sensations, sometimes it doesn’t have to split the world (aka the internet) like the famous “dress” (which is totally blue, BTW). Sometimes an internet sensation can just be something so ridiculously plain that it’s amazing. And let’s be real, we’re always looking for a new term, right? So say goodbye to “Felicia” and say hello to “Damn Daniel”.

Daniel is a regular teen whose outfits are filmed by his friend Josh over the course of a week. “Damn, Daniel!” Josh whoops behind the camera in every shot. “Back at it again with the white Vans!” he cheers, referring to Daniel’s shoes.

It’s hard to explain why it’s so funny. But then again, it’s so obvious as well.

Running around, running errands, copious amounts sourcing and ridiculously long periods of time for returns, hours of scouring the internet for the hottest fashion and beauty trends to suit your budget, breaking celeb news, cool health trends and tricks to try…and you’ve got an idea of what it takes to be an intern.

We decided to get to quiz our new interns to get to know them a little better.

Kea, digital intern.

1. Describe your style

My style is really ruled by whatever I feel like wearing on the day, which makes it difficult to describe actually, but one thing I know for sure is that I like to add a pop of colour to my look. So, if I am wearing a denim dress, for example, I’ll definitely style it with a pair of shoes, statement neckpiece or nail colour that is rich and vibrant

2. Tell us something funny/interesting about yourself-a quirk that you might have

I laugh easily, and a lot…like a lot, a lot. I laugh at everything. I’m actually laughing while answering this question.

3. Favourite designer and why?

Giorgio Armani = elegant, trendy, cool. What’s not to love?

4. Your shopping tips/advice?

As difficult as it may be sometimes, try to shop for wardrobe staples often, i.e. buy the black shoe instead of the neon yellow one (no matter how cute they are), wardrobe staples allow for a lot of versatility.

5. Flats or heels? Why?

Both! Heels for glam, and flats for comfort.

I would describe my style as fresh, romantic and the typical girly-girl that loves all things beautiful.

2. Who is your style icon and why?

My style icon would have to be Blake Lively. It is difficult for anyone to forget the days when she starred in Gossip Girl and had everyone talking after each episode about her gorgeous preppy outfits.

3. Your shopping tips/advice?

If you see something that you just cannot get off your mind and you just have to have it – do yourself a big favour and buy it! It’s the worst thing ever having sleepless nights because you cannot stop thinking about that one item that you left at the store or barely putting something down and seeing someone else buy it!

4. Flats or heels? Why?

Heels for sure. I can barely concentrate in flats.

5. Favourite 2016 fashion and beauty trend

Fashion Trend: My favourite fashion trend for 2016 would be 70’s trend specifically fringe bags and clothing. Beauty Trend: My favourite beauty trend for 2016 would be to go for a more al naturel look with minimalist make-up.

I am always growing out my fringe and then cutting it. It’s like my life’s mission to grow it out before I have the urge to cut it again!

Kendall Jenner. I love everything about her, head-to-toe!

Clothes and Shoes. I just have no self-restraint when it comes to these things!

4. Your shopping tips/advice?

Find your own style. It’s great to get inspiration from celebrities but as individuals we should have our own style and mix and match clothes as we want to.

5. Favourite 2016 fashion and beauty trend

The colours of the year, Rose Quartz and Serenity. They filter into beauty and fashion and these colours can be worn all year round. They are gorgeous!

The picture above of full lips was posted on Instagram by MAC Cosmetics 5 days ago, and has caused quite a stir.

The snap, captioned “Royal Romance at @ohnetitelny #AW16. #MACBackstage #NYFW”, is a simple backstage pic of model Aamito Lagum’s lip beauty look. Even though the pic received some praise for the naturally beautiful lips and the equally beautiful shade of lip colour, the model became a subject of hateful racist attacks. When the model’s lips were compared to that of a fish, and one comment stating that those were Jay Z’s lips.

2 days following the comments, Lagum responded proved that she won’t let the haters get her down or let racisim win by reposting the headlined pic captioning it, “My lips giving you sleepless nights, Thank you @maccosmetics for this killer color and to that makeup artist.”

Two weeks after the news broke that Khloé had called it quits with boyfriend, James Harden, she’s unapologetically telling the world why - Khloé style.

In an upcoming promo for her new show Kocktails With Khloé, Kho money explains that the cause of the split was that he cheated on her…

“I just don’t want to put up with people who want to be monogamous, but then [are] not monogamous,” the 31-year-old reality star told her guests.

He sought me out. He wanted to be committed… then wasn’t committed… So KoKo had to let him go go.” And Khloé has proof he cheated! “I’ve got the receipts to prove it,” said the reality star.

What would a Wednesday be without being able to divulge our woman crush… This week we chat to lifestyle blogger Angie Durrant Batis from Luckypony.co.za, who shares what’s inside her handbag at all times and what her perfect Saturday consists of.

1. What beauty product can’t you live without and why?

I absolutely love my Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. It always makes me feel like I’m giving my face a little extra loving every night. I also love my Clinique Chubby Stick Lip Colour Balm. I don’t really wear a lot of make-up, but this gives me just the right amount of colour on my lips to make my face look fresh – and not like an extra on Twilight.

2. What 5 things are in your handbag at all times?

My camera, Ilundi coin pouch, lip balm, at least two plastic animals (I have a toddler) and my phone.

3. How would you describe your style?

I’m quite laid-back when comes to my style. I like pretty things, but I hate feeling uncomfortable. I live in jeans, so if I pair those with a really nice blouse or an awesome jacket I’m good to go.

4. Describe your perfect Saturday?

Stuffing my face with crispy bacon, hanging with my husband, Shane, and daughter, Nina James, and possibly getting to shoot something interesting for my new series of photographic projects that I’ve started.

Instagram can mean different things for different people. On one hand you can use it as your own visual journal, and on the other it could be used to build your brand. Whatever the reason for posting your pics, we all know that the one thing we have in common is to have an Instagram feed of quality and beauty.

Here are five important tips on keeping your feed clean, fresh and visually appealing:

1. Have a focal point

If fashion is your focus, then post all things fashion (your OOTDs, flatlays, selfies featuring your new earrings or sunnies, etc), and refrain from posting mundane things that have nothing to do with fashion.

2. Restrict your filter usage.

We’re not saying be gone with the filters, we’re simply saying choose a maximum of three filters and alternate between those with every picture. If possible, it’s best to just stick to one, as it creates a mood for your feed, immediately setting it apart from the rest.

3. Always seek the light

As wonderful as it would be to have the top-of-the-range DSLR camera, the less expensive way to produce top-quality images would be to have a great light source (natural light is better than a flash). Making sure your shot has great lighting helps your camera to focus more, which in turn produces a more sharpened image.

4. Use Instagram for posting only

Even though Instagram offers their own camera as well as filters, it’s best to avoid them. If you want better quality pictures, use your smartphone’s camera and external apps for editing (such as Pixlr and Aillis).

5.. Click! Click! Click away!

Lastly, we recommend taking your shot more than once, from more than one angle and using different variations (e.g. if posting a flat lay, shift the items around in different shots). The more options you have, the easier it will be to find the best pic.

BONUS TIP: Clean the lens

This is something we tend not to think about, but it’s time to start paying more attention to your camera lens. The cleaner it is, the better the picture.
